I got the email this afternoon from the New Orleans Photo Alliance (4 days late this time): I’m in! So now I get to panic about getting them printed and framed and delivered on time all over again. Oh well, at least I know that framing place in Lafayette can do a 24 hour job so long as I use in-stock materials. And it will just be white mat/black frame, so I know they’ll have what I want. The last weekend for delivery is the same Saturday of the next photography meetup, which is actually in New Orleans, so that’s convenient.
As I’ve mentioned before, this is one of my favorite photos, so it’s really gratifying to have a professional photographer (this was a juried submission) agree it’s worth showing.
I’ll be honest, a small part of me felt that this photo is a little… clichéd? But we’re in south Louisiana, where most people are Catholic, and it has more meaning here than it would in California. This is the front of a rosary store too, which seems weird to me. Take better care of Jesus!
