There’s finally a trailer out for the movie version of Cormac McCarthy’s novel The Road, and it looks like they changed a lot from the source material.
My initial reaction was to be taken aback by all this actiony-y bullshit. But upon reflection, I think it’s probably a good thing. Does anyone really want to see a faithful adaptation of the novel, which was horrifically depressing? Reading the novel made me want to take a fistful of Ambien and cry myself to sleep for a month; a line-by-line screen version would probably result in mass suicide.
