bento #80: cornish pasties*

This week I tried my hand at making Cornish pasties. They aren’t pretty — I lack the delicate touch necessary for making pastry attractive — but they’re tasty! I used this recipe. There’s the usual squawking about how it’s NAWT AWTHENTICK!!1! because it uses carrots instead of rutabaga. But I like carrots, so I guess I don’t really give a fuck. Anyway, substitute rutabaga for the carrots if you want to be hardcore like the starving, black-lunged tin miners of Cornwall.

Rounding it out we have some salad with ranch dressing, an apple (not shown), and orange cream Pocky. Just like the Cornish tin miners of old used to eat!
