i’m boarding the love train kind of late on this one, but it’s better than missing it altogether

This is kind of embarassing to admit, but I only recently discovered the awesomeness that is The Office. I mean, I knew what it was, and I figured it probably was funny, but it came on at the same time as CSI:, and I’m like the last person in the western hemisphere who doesn’t have Tivo. Look, I watch too much teevee as it is; if I got Tivo I’d never leave the house again.

But TBS has started playing 2 episodes every Tuesday night, and I got over my reluctance to wander into the middle of a show enough to give it a go. (I have a weird resistance to watching anything I haven’t been watching from the pilot on, which is why I pay more attention to upcoming new shows than the average viewer.) It helps that’s it’s loosely-structured enough to make dipping in pretty painless. Michael is the worst boss ever, Jim loves Pam, Dwight is insane… got it.

My favorite character is actually just a tertiary one: Dwight’s cousin, fellow beet farm inhabitant, and BFF, Mose. Last night I saw an episode where Dwight is initiating the office temp into sales calls and subjects him to all kinds of bizarre hazing and, well… just watch it. it’s kind of long, but the last minute will make you laugh so hard you’ll hurt something.

Mose is played by Michael Schur (who also writes for the show and is one of its producers), who my friend Emma informed me is a writer for Fire Joe Morgan, a very funny sports blog. I’m not hardcore into sports (I’m not even softcore into them), but whenever I heard of anything funny/weird/interesting in the world of sports, I like to wander over and see what they have to say about it. It’s always worthwhile.

Hee!
